Oversea's Call Centres....Help link stories and video against the practise HERE !!

If your like me and have used call centres for issues with your internet or phone or TV or warranty or one of fifty million other things, and have been routed to overseas call centres, which are mostly on the Indian subcontinent...on the other side of the world....and have had to deal with language barriers or automaton-like representatives that are no better than dealing with an automated assistant...and are fed up with seeing these jobs go overseas when our economy is in the crapper and jobs are being lost left right and centre....and are fed up with corporate greed in trying to squeeze out every last penny by thinking that these call centres save them money....deep breath..........then post links in this blog to any sites or video's or news articles from anywhere in the western world that are 'anti-overseas call centres'

Many of these companies thought they were getting a deal years ago when they started using these call centres (be they actual business's or someones house !!) but have slowly come to the realisation that they are no longer saving them money as wages over there have increased as they are getting a taste of the North American way, and clients drop their services because of their outsourced centres and their disapproval of them. This is in no way biased towards anyone but the business/corporations that outsource overseas for cheaper labour (see my other blog YourKiddingMee.blogspot.com for my view on the blame for the expensive wages....unions) I have heard that many of these overseas reps have to take counselling to deal with stress caused by people freaking on them and constantly saying 'what ? pardon ? I do this myself every time I call. This does not mean I think we should be nicer to them...as true Canadians are anyways, but voice our opinions to the companies that use them. Bell Canada is a big one. Bell Canada. I have made attempts to write the CEO and any other upper echelon people with absolutely no luck. They are in a veritable fortress and have no contact with the masses...other than the automated reply you get from some bloke in India stating that they are sorry to hear you are disgruntled etc etc etc....If I hear one more apology from a Bell rep I am going to flip out !!! My god....the Indian reps spend half their conversation with you apologising. Makes you ill and even angrier.

The corporate types do not get this. Dell is in the news for reducing the amount of overseas call centre usage for corporate customers due to overwhelming complaints. Britons have spoken out against the practise and companies over there are starting to advertise that they do not use overseas call centres as a marketing gimmick...that is working ! People are just plain angry with this lost source of jobs and economic impact. Are we too good to have lowly call centres here ? Large American corporations don't think so, who are starting to bring open call centres here. Why can't Bell ? A lot of these companies that have call centres here unfortunately run them for corporate accounts. We lowly schlubs are booted overseas until we snap and then are transferred back.

I'm starting to go all over the place with this. I'll go and have a coffee or tea and chill....
